Monochromatic & Neutral

Monochromatic, white and neutral is once again featured as the focus for another spring. As the colour gurus at Pantone tell us, "this season there is an emphasis on the cooler and softer side of the colour spectrum" for 2015. The BCBG Max Azria collection, reviewed by Fashionizers, evolves delicately from pale beiges and greys to emerging soft pastels framed by the same background palette.

Men's fashions are also showing in this pale colour palette. Many men tend to not go beige or white from head to toe but with textural differences this is a fresh look.

I could see myself wearing exactly what this male model is wearing, short of the shoes.

Love this pale head to toe look, whether it be white and beige, shades of beige or white, beige and grey.

Update (March 21) for NEED: Those shoes just look wrong for "the look". In the comments, some alternatives are suggested and I found a photo from Brian Davis' collection of Tory Burch flats that would go much better.

Update (March 25) for all the Ballet-Flats-Wearing-Guys: Which one would you prefer with the head-to-toe-beige look? The TB espadrilles or the Reva ballet flats?

NICE: This has been the mantra of my spring closet and is definitely going to remain whether or not it is the designer colour choice of the moment. And so it is for other bloggers as well. Vicki Archer on her French Essence blog has devoted last week (first week of March, 2015) to the "platinum and pearls" in her life, from fashion to hair colour to interior design.

Combine this colour scheme to shirt dresses which Glamour assigns as a 2015 trend and you have a nice combination that will take you from shopping to Sunday brunch.

NO THANKS: Gingham. Tablecloths and napkins are gingham. My picnic basket is lined in gingham. I choose not to wear it.

NOTE-WORTHY: Slouchy is on again and probably will be off again, soon enough.

NECESSARY: The polo shirt is back as a 2015 trend as well but has it ever really left? For many it is a necessary part of their wardrobes.
